Mediconnect

A complex system with simple routines
It is not easy to deliver a popular and user-friendly system for inviting tenders in the health and employment sectors but through the years Mediconnect has built a big and very satisfied group of clients. In relation to a series of system expansions Codehouse was invited to come up with a solution and for over a year now, we have been working closely together to create a flexible but effective platform.

Success through understanding
One of the challenges was geographic because Mediconnect is situated in Aarhus in the western part of Denmark and Codehouse in Copenhagen is in the eastern part of Denmark. Since the beginning of the project, a close dialogue has been in focus – on the one hand to get a better understanding of Mediconnect as both company and system and on the other hand to avoid the geographic distance becoming an actual problem.

It has not been easy to understand the three different perspectives on the usage of Mediconnect (caseworker, specialist and the Mediconnect Support) but through continuous development meetings with a tight focus we succeeded in getting everyone in the project to understand what the challenges were and what would be the goal for the following period. The result has been a process with matched expectations from start to finish.

From ideas to solutions
Despite a certain scepticism towards working with a new partner who had no prior knowledge of our system, the project has progressed above all expectations and we have experienced fantastic project management. Codehouse has shown good analytical skills and has taken even the smallest aspects into consideration throughout the entire project. The project has progressed over more than a year but we have had a close dialogue with Codehouse constantly inspiring - supplying technical possibilities and transforming ideas and preferences into user-friendly solutions. – Rikke Lau, Project manager

And a little something for the nerds
The system is developed as a tailored Microsoft .NET web-solution including the use of AJAX. A considerable part of the system deals with automatically generated letters and forms in Microsoft Office Word 2003 and 2007 as well as PDF. This was done using MOSS Content Controls.
