The first impression when visiting wagamama’s new Sitecore site is the eye-catching photography of their tantalising menu dishes. These are presented as a hugely impressive and immersive parallax display where the background images move slower than those in the foreground, creating the illusion of (3D) depth and perspective.
As you navigate through the site you experience intuitive animations, dynamic menu filtering and touch controlled mobile side navigation. The responsive “Cinemagraph” technology displays moving imagery, taking the presentation of large hero images to another (immersive) level. These features add to the user experience and go a long way in improving site aesthetics, usability and engagement.
From a user’s perspective, wagamama’s re-booted Sitecore website delivers a much improved and a much faster environment for content editors, alleviating the previous frustrations of editing content in a slow environment.
A bespoke Sitecore user guide was created so that wagamama’s content team can become familiar with their website's structure, and most importantly, for them to become confident in creating content.
“As true Sitecore experts, Codehouse were a natural partner for us for this project. We wanted to really up the ante with our new site, to utilise new technologies and to use motion to hero our food and provide a much more immersive experience for our visitors. We really couldn’t have got what we have got were it not for a great team.
We are very proud of the UK website and it has received some incredible feedback. We now look forward to launching the USA site followed by new sites for our global franchise partners later this year”
