The new Sitecore 6.2: Good, now done even better

With the release of Version 6.2, Sitecore’s CMS focuses on marketing tools and user insight – and at the same time makes life even easier for the editors. New features include Web Forms for Marketers, Outlook Based Workflow Management, and WebDAV (Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning) Media and Document Management.

The new Web Forms for Marketers puts marketing teams in complete control of the forms creation, campaign integration and optimisation processes. The tool allows non technical users to build rich interactive forms, configure campaigns and conversion goals and provides a suite of reports to better understand user behaviour for usability analysis and optimisation. The tool also allows marketers to capture incremental data from abandoned forms and track form dropout statistics.

The Outlook Based Workflow Management lets you integrate with Outlook and receive workflow notifications from within Outlook in real-time and take action on those workflow requests without ever having to log into the CMS. All workflow actions, status and version comparison information is provided to you and dynamically adjusts should a workflow state change.

The Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV) Media and Document Management enables you to make “drag and drop” image uploads – in other words to upload files from your local computer to the media library without needing upload wizards. Files can be uploaded directly within the page editor and stored within Sitecore CMS. Files can also be edited with native applications such as Microsoft Word, Photoshop and PowerPoint and version controlled automatically.
