And compatibility fixes for supported technology platforms will not be available at all.
Sitecore versions can reach the end of their lifecycle for any number of reasons – due to market demand, technology innovations that drive changes in the product, or functionality that was once ground-breaking becoming more obsolete over time.
Mainstream support for Sitecore 6 and Sitecore 7 versions ended quite some time ago, so if your Sitecore website is on one of those versions, then you definitely need to consider upgrading.
