This abbreviated quote, is the perfect encapsulation of why the mention of AI brings with it excitement, fear, panic, uncertainty, and just every other emotion available. You cannot hide from this, and neither can your organisation, nor can your customers and prospects. The only option is to get on the front foot and to help we have developed the AI IMPACT Playbook. The intent is to provide a shared language for decision-making, helping you to understand how to use AI and integrating its use alongside human expertise to improve, potentially even revolutionise, outcomes.
This playbook will help you evaluate and apply AI to a specific task or process. It is a practical framework to help you integrate AI into your business processes and how it should augment work and enable humans to lead.
From the Codehouse perspective, it is particularly useful when applied to the strategy and delivery of Digital Experiences. Used alongside the Codehouse DXPlaybook, it will help you to prepare for Discovery workshops as well as generating and analysing the outputs. These playbooks are designed to be used with AI assistants like Claude or ChatGPT to accelerate your discovery and planning process.
To integrate using IMPACT with the DXPlaybook we have developed a number of assets, including a DXPlaybook AI Prompt Library, which includes ready-to-use prompts for each play that include IMPACT assessment guidance.
The DXPlaybook reveals where you are and where you need to be across six dimensions of digital capability. IMPACT helps you decide where AI can help you get there faster - and where human expertise remains irreplaceable. Use them together to create transformation strategies that are both ambitious and realistic, technically sound and business-focused, AI-enhanced and human-centred.
The IMPACT Criteria

Impact | What is the desired outcome and what is its value? |
Multiples | How often does this task/process occur and/or what volume of outputs are required for its completion? |
Platforms | In which platforms or applications does the relevant information live? |
Awareness | Can AI access all of the information required for the fullest context? |
Collaboration | How much does human involvement improve the output and ensure quality? |
Time | How long will/could this take with AI versus without? |
How to execute
Pick an area or a cross functional group (e.g., just marketing and/or loop in sales, product and/or operations) and starts by asking three key foundation questions:
What is the task or process?
What is the desired outcome?
What is the value?
Go into as much detail as possible with your answers, and then start to map the related process. Once you have done this work through the questions against each of the criteria, deciding whether the level is high, medium or low. The playbook then provides a set of potential actions you can apply.
